The Future of Our Shawnigan Lake RCMP Detachment

Many local residents have decided to take the petitions door to door, to the schools, the Block Watch Captains have been sent the official petitions to be distributed to their Block Watch Residents, the Shawnigan Coffee House, Island Pharmacy in Shawnigan Lake and the New Cowichan Valley Running Store in the Mill Bay Centre near Island Saving Centre, Arbutus Ridge Ratepayers Association (ARRA), Cobble Hill have agreed to have the petition set up there for signatures.  We are contacting many businesses and local residents to get them involved in supporting this vital petition to stop the merging of the Shawnigan Lake RCMP Detachment with North Cowichan.

We have many signatures already on the petition here in the Community Policing Office in Mill Bay, please stop by when your shopping and sign the petition.

Our President Greer Stewart will be meeting with our MLA Sonia Furstenau on November 3rd – at 2:30 p.m. we would like to have all the petitions in the office before that time to present them to her on behalf of the South Cowichan Community.  “Thank you everyone for stepping up and getting involved”  Together our Voices are Stronger.
