How do we begin to say Thank YOU…!

For all YOU have done to support the Safety of the South Cowichan Community

That Makes it a Safer place to Live, Work & Play…!

SC SW Volunteers Thank you Hello Community Policing Volunteers, Coordinators, Managers & Officers!!

I do you hope you and your families are keeping well & healthy!  I have been thinking of all of you often & miss seeing you out in your communities.  I do want to express how much I & ICBC appreciate the work you have been doing from auto crime to speed watch & everything in between!

It is Volunteer Appreciation Week & what a better time to reach out & express our gratitude for everything you do to make our communities a better place to work, live & play.  You are the back bone of your community.

I received a copy of a letter from a Langley RCMP officer – I felt that her words were exactly how I felt & I wanted to share a portion of this letter with you.

Our lives have become somewhat different in these last several weeks; routines changed up & news that just doesn’t stop.  For me I remember a quote I have etched in my brain “If we feel like we are losing everything, we only have to remember that trees lose their leaves every year & still stand tall & wait for better days to come; & those days do come.”  The reset button has been pushed; we see people helping others & appreciating the smallest things in life.  We have all seen our community showing appreciation; pots being banged & cheers going out to the staff of those working in positions deemed essential services.  Our sense of Community is being awakened once again.

These words provide a great sense of hope and community – volunteers are community, which is what we all value even more during challenging times like these – a sense of hope & community will see us through this storm.  I value you each & everyone one of you volunteers – you are our hope & community.  I look forward to brighter days & thank you for your continued commitment to keeping your community safe & your efforts to stay home, stay health & stay strong – we will get through this.

A heartfelt & sincere thank you,

Colleen

National Volunteer Week 2020

April 19-25, 2020

It’s time to applaud this country’s volunteers.

Let’s all cheer for Canada’s volunteers!

Almost 13 million Canadian volunteers deserve our coast-to-coast-to-coast cheers for their dedication and generosity. Let’s all join together to applaud their immense contribution to our country, our communities and millions of our lives during National Volunteer Week (NVW).

During NVW we want Canadians to celebrate all volunteers by printing out, personalizing and decorating their windows with Volunteer Canada’s clapping hands image with the message Cheers to Volunteers! or with their own designs. Also, share Volunteer Canada’s graphics and gif on social media with the hashtags #CheersToVolunteers and #NVW2020.

Our helpful National Volunteer Week Campaign Kit contains everything you’ll need to plan and promote volunteer appreciation activities. Use the free tools as you’d like to make this year’s week-long celebration of Canada’s volunteers the loudest and proudest ever.
